A story from the field
We had a student who mistakenly brought the wrong caliber magazine for their pistol. The firearm repeatedly jammed until I inspected it and found the reason. I have the same model pistol and gave this student one of my magazines to use. This student and others in the class learned the importance of always inspecting their firearm and components to assure proper function.
